All that you need to know

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does Microblading hurt?
A: 99% of my clients experience little to no pain at all and often fall asleep during the Microblading

Q: Can you do Microblading if I have no eyebrows?
A: This is my favorite as your face is a blank canvas for me to work with.

Q: Do you shave my brow hairs?
A: Absolutely not! I do lightly shave the brow hairs outside the mapped out guideline.

Q: How long does Microblading last?
A: Microblading longevity depends on your skins type and sun exposure.
Brows- 1 to 3 years
Eyeliner- 5+ years

Q: Will I be able to go to work the next day?
A: Yes! You might be slightly sore but Microblading won’t impact your ability to work.

Q: Will I get to see the shape of the brows to be microbladed beforehand?
A: Yes! The first hour I spend with you will be a consultation, brow mapping and pigment swatching.
I take my time and map you out to perfection. I ask my clients to be very picky at this point and together we come up with a beautiful shape to compliment your facial structure. All that we do prior to me starting actual Microblading procedure.

Q: Are there any risks with Microblading?
A: Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattoo. When you open the skin you are at risk for infection.
My studio is thoroughly cleaned with hospital grade disinfectants after each client and following my strict aftercare guidelines after the procedure significantly lowers your risk.

Q: Will I still need to get my eyebrows waxed after Microblading?
A: Yes you will but this also makes it so much easier as your guide has been set. Many clients now no longer pay for waxing as they can now see where to tweeze for themselves.

Eyebrow Aftercare

•Every hour I want you to lightly blot your brows with tissue. This will remove the lymph that your brows will produce and prevents the build-up of scabbing. This step is very important and will greatly impact whether you scab or just lightly peel.

• Days 1-7 lightly wash morning and night. Baby shampoo, Cetaphil or an Anti-bacterial soap is recommended.
• Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep.
• Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring and loss of color.

• No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

• Avoid intense gym workouts for one week.

• Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.

• Showers are fine but don’t take a long one where lots of steam will be produced. Gently blot brows dry but do not rub.

• Avoid stomach sleeping until after you’re done peeling.

• Swimming is not encouraged for the first 2 weeks.

• If your brows feel dry apply a rice grain size amount of Aquaphor on them but no more. I do encourage clients to wait 48 hours before doing this to allow the skin to close. If your skin is very oily I do like you to avoid this step.
• Day 5 is typically when your shedding will begin. This can be a very tempting time to pick at the skin. Please refrain!

• Do not use any retinol products or anti-aging creams during your healing time. These have 2 exfoliating acids and will lift your pigment.

***With the proper prep and aftercare routine, you will have much better results with your microblading procedure.***

Eyeliner Aftercare

ICE ICE ICE!!! It will be your best friend the first couple of days. Apply a light layer of Aquaphor and paper towel and then ice in a bag to eyes for 10 to 20 minutes. Ice helps reduce swelling and aids in healing. Do not put ice directly on your lids. Feel free to take Ibuprofen Or Tylenol as well.

Absolutely DO NOT RUB your eyes. This will create a corneal abrasion. Only flush with the eye drops given.

Clean eyelashes with baby shampoo morning and night.

After day 3, you can put a rice grain size amount of Aquaphor to your liner if they feel dry.

3 days after you may use a brand new mascara on the tips of your lashes only. If you choose to keep your old mascara, you must wait two weeks to resume use.

Wait one week before foundation or eyeshadow is used.

Wait 2 weeks before eyeliner is used.

Before showers apply lightly Aquaphor or Vaseline to your lid to create a barrier. Do you not expose eyes to the full pressure of shower water. Once done lightly dab off the product.

Do you not soak in the pool, hot tub or when bathing for two weeks.

Absolutely no: picking, scrubbing or exfoliating of treated area. Allow your eyeliner to flake off on its own.

Do not expose to sun or tanning beds for 30 days.

Absolutely no: cleansing creams or chemicals. ( includes Retina-A, glycolic acids, anti-aging or anti-acne)

Change your pillowcase the first night and to help reduce swelling an additional pillow under your head can help. Staying slightly elevated will ease the discomfort.

Your eyelids will be swollen for 24-48hours. Text me with any concerns or if the swelling gets increasingly worse. Taking a Benadryl afterwards can help with swelling.

Colors appear brighter and more sharply defined immediately following procedure. As the healing progresses, Color will soften and the color may not be visible for about 4 weeks post procedure.

Touchups after 6-8 weeks is required.
